Las Vegas, April 15, 2026 – Rohde & Schwarz is launching the R&S®BroadcastShield at NAB 2026, a specialized service designed to meet the rigorous US broadcast network operator demands. The service provides continuous oversight of a transmitter network, utilizing local support centers for the early identification of potential issues. By moving away from reactive "break-fix" scenarios to a preventative maintenance model, operators can ensure the highest possible uptime for broadcast operations with more stable, planned workflows.

The R&S®Secure Application Gateway is an in-house development and a key element that manages connectivity while maintaining the highest IP security standards to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of transmitter data. Integrating secure access lets Rohde & Schwarz transmitter experts make remote repairs or coordinate the rapid dispatch of spare parts through the global Rohde & Schwarz network in line with clearly defined service level agreements (SLAs) for consistent and fast response times.

At its core, BroadcastShield is a highly secure transmitter monitoring service where broadcasters have real-time access to experienced Rohde & Schwarz system engineers in the event of a problem. Such expert support means local operators need to have fewer highly specialized staff permanently on site. The Rohde & Schwarz team can provide step-by-step guidance to local personnel for initial maintenance or complex troubleshooting and help precisely triage and resolve issues.

"The launch of BroadcastShield brings our deep RF engineering and cybersecurity expertise directly to customer monitoring operations," says Erik Balladares, Vice President of North American Broadcast Sales at Rohde & Schwarz. "We want to give broadcast network operators a proactive and agile protective layer. By combining 24/7 oversight with the secure application gateway, our team can intervene before minor faults escalate into major outages to provide a new level of operational stability in the broadcast industry."

The launch of BroadcastShield at NAB 2026 marks a major step forward in remote transmitter monitoring with rapid, secure expert response and support for modern broadcast operations. The service seamlessly integrates into existing infrastructure for a sophisticated level of protection with engineering from industry experts.
